About us – Queensland Curling Association

Our History

Queensland Curling Association was formed over 15 years ago by a group of enthusiastic and dedicated lovers of curling who were inspired by seeing curling played at the winter olympics. They set out to establish a foothold for curling in Queensland.

Since then the QCA has run a season every year and has introduced hundreds of new people, young and old, to the sport that we all love.

Numerous QCA members have gone on to represent Queensland and Australia at National and World events in every single curling discipline. These members return each year to share their experience, teach newcomers and to continue to grow the sport.

Where and when?

Curling is a winter sport! We usually run our season from late February until November each year. Curling sessions are at: ‘Iceworld’, 2304 Sandgate Rd, Boondall, QLD 4034.

We run our sessions on Thursday evenings, starting at 7:45 p.m. There are occasions when we do not hold our sessions on a regular Thursday, so please reach out to us first if you are interested in coming along.

Learning to curl

We often run ‘Learn to Curl’ programs for interested newcomers at the start of the season. All equipment is provided. Details and promotions of these programs will appear on our website and on our facebook page. If you want to register your interest, follow us on facebook or email us at: info.queenslandcurling@gmail.com

We run several league style competitions every season and encourage new curlers to stay on after their learn to curl program by forming a team with friends or joining a team and meeting new people.
